Should I Buy Cancer Insurance?

Reality Check: Cancer is Not Covered by Most Health Insurance Plans

Every year there are 1.2 million Americans diagnosed with cancer. Most health insurance policies don't cover this “specified disease” or “dreaded disease”. The costs of cancer operation, diagnostics or removal and treatment are overwhelming to the victims and to their families as well. Obtaining cancer insurance can help to ease these financial burdens and give peace of mind to you and your family.

Many poeple do not realize that most major medical health insurance policies don't cover all cancer treatments. Although some policies include a few cancer diagnostic tests or minimal treatment, they do not cover all the necessary cancer treatments. Some of these treatments are very expensive. Major medical insurance also doesn't cover the cost of travel to get cancer treatment.

The financial burden of cancer can cause a lot of stress to families. For a nominal monthly premium you and your family can have the peace of mind that these extra costs will be covered when cancer strikes.
